May 18, 1943, Carl and Audrey tied the knot and became Mr. and Mrs. I love that I can say they were married for 60 years!!! That is such an accomplishment. A few days ago I was talking with someone and when he learned that I was a PK (Preacher’s Kid) in a time when ministers really didn’t make much money. He asked if I had felt deprived. My response was that I really didn’t know anything different from the way we lived so I really didn’t feel deprived. I’ve thought about that quite a bit since then and looking back now at my life, my parents and how I was raised my answer is even more emphatic. No -I didn’t feel deprived because I wasn’t. My parents did the best to raise me with a high moral standard, integrity, and the list of positives goes on. They demonstrated their loved for each other and for us. I don’t think I ever felt poor – they worked hard to make sure we were nicely dressed and there was always food in the freezer and pantry. So - - deprived? No!! Blessed?? YES!
This is Mom and Dad's wedding photo - 66 years ago today. Weren't they a handsome couple?

For the Wedding Photo I used pieces from several kits: Wedding Treasure by Charlie’s Digiscraps; Vintage Romanceby Qeen Bee Design; Precious Treasures - PascelA; Precious Memories by MITSYBELLE; Golden Haze by Scrap Fiends Designs; One Room Schoolhouse by Kristi Westling And this one was qutie a few years later....still a handsome looking couple!
For this one I used Almost Summer by Christy Skaggs.
So today I remember my Mom and Dad. And although they aren't here for me to tell them - I sometimes think and hope they can hear me and know that - "Mom and Dad - you were wonderful parents and I'm so impressed with your lives. I love you and I miss you! Thanks for being my parents."Hope you are having a wonderful day – be sure to laugh a little!

Great photos and "scrap art." You're right, we didn't feel deprived because we really weren't--had every thing we needed and lots more. I would have liked them even if they weren't my parents (except for maybe when I was 13-17). Miss you mom and dad.
